Madison businesses, employees donate $43K to United Way

Madison businesses First Bank & Trust (FB&T) and FirstLine Funding Group (FFG) and their employees committed $43,737 to Interlakes Area United Way (IAUW) for its 2024 campaign. Representatives from both organizations—which offer a 100% match of employee donations to United Way–recently presented the donation to IAUW President Lori Gustaf, who also manages FFG.

IAUW is a non-profit organization that coordinates financial and volunteer resources for other non-profit agencies in Lake, Miner and Moody counties in South Dakota. IAUW recently announced over $134,747 in grant funding to 27 programs which address physical and mental health, literacy and youth education, economic mobility and more.

“With matching funds and employee commitments, First Bank & Trust and corporate partners contributed over 32% of the local allocations awarded in our three-county support area this year,” Gustaf said. “If it were not for the generosity for the leadership at the corporate level, who have created and incentivized an environment of philanthropy, it would not be possible for Interlakes Area United Way to offer assistance to so many worthy programs in our local communities.”
