WORKING DILIGENTLY TO CHANGE LIVES
IAUW is managed by an executive director and volunteer board of directors. The by-laws of IAUW allow for a board consisting of 15 members.
IAUW’s board of directors has entire management and control of the organization including fundraising and grant distribution. Directors are accountable to the community and are personally liable and legally responsible to ensure that IAUW is properly managed.
Interim Executive Director
Karen Giles was appointed to Interim Executive Director May 1, 2025. She brings with her more than 30 years’ experience in education through longstanding service with the Madison School District as a school counselor.
Since retiring in 2022, she has remained active in the community as a substitute teacher and office professional. She’s also an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison, serving as Deacon of Services and Sacraments and participating in music and worship groups.
Giles will serve in this interim capacity as the board evaluates future leadership plans.
