Non-profits encouraged to apply before September 30
Interlakes Area United Way (IAUW) is introducing a new Community Impact Grant process designed to make funding more accessible while ensuring grant requirements are appropriate for the size of each request.
Applications for 2027 Community Impact Grants are now available, with a submission deadline of September 30.
For the first time, organizations can apply through one of two funding paths:
- Community Impact Micro-Grants support requests of less than $500 using a simplified three-page application. This option is intended for smaller projects and one-time needs while reducing paperwork by eliminating financial and legal documentation requirements.
- Community Impact Standard Grants are available for requests of $500 or more and include additional program, financial and organizational information appropriate for larger funding investments.
“Every nonprofit has different funding needs,” said Karen Giles, IAUW executive director. “Some organizations simply need help with supplies or launching a small project, while others are requesting larger investments for established programs. Our new grant process recognizes those differences and creates an application that fits the request.”
Both grant tracks follow the same application timeline and are evaluated using the same Community Impact priorities.
Programs must serve residents of Lake, Miner and/or Moody counties and align with one of four United Way Impact Areas:
- Healthy Community
- Youth Opportunity
- Financial Security
- Community Resiliency
While the applications differ, all Community Partners are expected to work alongside IAUW to strengthen local communities through collaboration, promotion of United Way, and a shared volunteer commitment during the funding cycle.
Applications are available beginning August 1 and must be submitted by September 30. Grant awards will be announced in February 2027.
Organizations interested in applying are encouraged to review the Grant Details & Checklist before completing an application to determine which funding path best fits their request.
