Two lucky donors could win $500

Interlakes Area United Way’s popular 15×15 Challenge is back—and this year, the chances to win have doubled!

The challenge calls on donors to pledge $15 or more per month toward IAUW’s 2026 campaign drive and submit their pledge forms by November 15, 2025.

In this year’s drawing, two qualifying donors will each receive a $500 gift card thanks to generous sponsorship from East River Federal Credit Union (ERFCU).

“At East River Federal Credit Union, our mission has always been rooted in people helping people,” said Tanya Hobson, ERFCU president and CEO and IAUW board member. “United Way’s focus on education, health, and financial stability aligns perfectly with our values as a credit union.”

ERFCU has sponsored the 15×15 Challenge since 2018, helping make it one of IAUW’s most successful annual promotions. It averages around 105 qualifiers annually and can be linked to a minimum total of $132,480.

“Supporting Interlakes Area United Way’s annual 15×15 Challenge is one more way we live out that commitment by investing in the well-being of the communities we serve. Together we’re creating opportunities, strengthening local families, and building a more equitable future for everyone who calls this region home,” said Hobson.

This year’s addition of a second $500 prize is a bonus for donors and their ongoing generosity.

“The 15×15 Challenge proves that small, steady gifts truly add up,” said IAUW Interim Executive Director Karen Giles. “Every pledge helps sustain vital services that strengthen families and improve lives right here in our local communities.”

A $15 monthly pledge—just $180 a year—can make a meaningful difference. For example, it can cover rent for victims and survivors through the Domestic Violence Network or help buy groceries for three individuals through the Salvation Army of Lake County.
