Madison employees and businesses donate $33K to local United Way

Madison businesses First Bank & Trust and FirstLine Funding Group and their employees pledged $33,079 to Interlakes Area United Way (IAUW) in 2026. Representatives from both businesses recently presented the donation to IAUW Executive Director Karen Giles.

First Bank & Trust (FB&T) and FirstLine Funding Group (FFG) are part of the Fishback Financial Corporation. Both businesses operate with an emphasis on philanthropy and offer a 100% match of employee donations to United Way. Employees also receive a paid day off work for pledging at least one hour of pay per month.

“Fishback operates with a culture of paying it forward, including dedicated support of United Way,” Gustaf said. “Following their lead, we are proud to impact the lives of so many people in our region.”

IAUW coordinates financial and volunteer resources for other non-profit agencies in Lake, Miner and Moody counties in South Dakota. The organization is set to announce its 2026 grant funding at its upcoming Annual Meeting on February 9.
