Interlakes Area United Way (IAUW) has raised a total of $22,324 through DownTown in MadTown (DTMT) events since 2018, thanks to the continued support of the Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce (GMACC) and the Madison community.
This summer’s events brought in $3,470 for IAUW, including $2,000 donated by the Chamber and $1,470 in tips from generous eventgoers. The money will be added to IAUW’s current campaign fund, which helps support local nonprofit programs and services.
Hosted by GMACC, DTMT brings live music, food, drinks and family fun to Egan Avenue each summer. IAUW board members and volunteers from its Community Partners manage the beer garden at each event.
“We’re grateful to GMACC for giving us this opportunity year after year, and to everyone who visits the beer garden and tips our volunteers,” said IAUW President Lori Gustaf. “These funds help us support our partner agencies and build stronger communities.”
Since the concert series began in 2018, DTMT has shown how a community tradition can make a lasting impact.
That same spirit of community support continues through IAUW’s annual campaign. People can get involved through workplace giving, one-time gifts, or the 15×15 Challenge. By pledging at least $15 per month for 2027—or making a one-time gift of at least $180—donors can support IAUW Community Partners while being entered into a drawing for one of two $500 gift cards. Donations and pledges are due November 15 to qualify. The promotion is sponsored by East River Federal Credit Union.
