Dine Out to Donate returns October 7

Event kicks off campaign drive, supports local non-profits

Interlakes Area United Way (IAUW) is encouraging people to Dine Out to Donate on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Participating businesses have pledged a portion of that day’s sales to IAUW to help fund nonprofit services across Lake, Miner and Moody Counties.

2026 marks the 10th year of this annual event, which has raised over $33,000 since 2017. 

“When you dine at a participating business on October 7, you’re not just enjoying a meal—you’re helping preserve services for neighbors in need,” said Karen Giles, executive director of IAUW. 

Lake County participating businesses:
The Broadwater Bar • Cherry Lanes • Classic Corner • Country Cafe • Dairy Queen • Gaylen’s Gourmet Popcorn • Gary’s Bakery & Cafe • Go Go Burrito • Lakes Bar & Grill  • Los Tapatios Mexican Restaurant  •  Rosie’s Farmhouse Cafe • The Office • OneStop • Pizza Ranch • The Point • Sporty’s Bar & Grill • Subway • Sundog Coffee

Moody County participating businesses:
Bluejays Bar & Grill • Grizzly Meats • Subway • The Wildcats Bar

Food trucks/stands:
Annie’s Egg Rolls – will serve 11am-3pm in the Dollar General parking lot in Flandreau
The Salty Mare Coffee Co – will be in Howard 7am-12pm then in Madison 4pm-8pm

Event sponsors — Madison Golf & Country Club, 2nd Street Diner and The Point — are also supporting this year’s effort. While their kitchens will not be open on October 7, people can support them on other days to show appreciation for their generosity.

Funds raised through Dine Out to Donate support IAUW’s campaign, which helps sustain programs across Moody, Lake and Miner counties, ranging from food and housing assistance to childcare, education, health, and more. 

IAUW awarded $169,250 to 29 non-profit Community Partners in 2026.

How to help:

  1. Dine (or get take-out) at participating businesses on October 7.
  2. Encourage family, friends and co-workers to do the same.
  3. Support the event sponsors on other days of the year.

IAUW will be conducting its 2027 campaign in the area in the coming weeks. Donations can be made online any time at IAUW’s website.
